My services

I aim to help other people develop their understanding of autism, to develop insights into what it is really like to be autistic, and to know how best to support autistic people; and so I offer a variety of services for a range of needs.

I am neuro-affirming, which means I believe neurodiversity is a wonderful thing. I challenge the medical model view of neurodivergence and instead embrace and celebrate people’s differences. I believe that autistic people should be viewed as individuals with diverse experiences and needs, and that non-autistic people need to learn more about us from us in order to understand the impact of our experiences.

True inclusion and equity means that everyone has a voice and will be supported in the ways that they themselves need. My services are a springboard to providing that.

Speaking

I speak at conferences and events on a range of topics including my experiences of being autistic, parenting autistic children, teaching and supporting autistic people, and autistic women and girls.

I have also spoken at international conferences about my autism research into school transition and into the experiences of Black and Black mixed-heritage late diagnosed autistic women.

My speaking sessions can be tailored to:

  • parents / carers

  • professionals from education

  • professionals from health and social care

  • autistic adults

  • autistic children and young people

Training

Training sessions are designed for different groups of participants, including parents, professionals from education, health or social care, and employers.

I offer training, workshops and webinars ranging in length from 2 hours to 2 full days.

Topics include:

  • understanding autism

  • autism and anxiety

  • supporting autistic students

  • autism and sensory issues

  • autistic women and girls

  • autism and ethnicity

  • school transition

Mentoring

I provide mentoring services for autistic adults, young adults and teenagers. My mentoring is unique because it is by an autistic person for autistic people.

Sessions are led by the needs of the client. The focus could be for them to learn more about what being autistic means for them, or look at more specific areas, such as executive functioning or emotional regulation.

Sessions are online or face to face. In-person sessions take place in a natural, calm environment in a complementary health care clinic.

Consultancy

I offer bespoke services catered to individual needs; including designing new training programmes and developing personalised support for families and individuals.

I work with the client to create the service they desire.

Tutoring

I am a highly experienced qualified teacher and SENCO, having taught in mainstream primary and secondary schools, and special schools and alternative provisions.

I offer 1:1 tuition for students who need a little extra help or who are being home educated. I specialise in tutoring autistic students or those with SEND. Sessions are adapted according to individual need.

Subjects offered:

  • Maths KS1 & KS2

  • English KS1-KS4, including GCSE, Entry Level and Functional Skills.

I also offer specialist autism tutoring, which helps the students with their individual areas of need.

Sessions can be in person (at the student’s home) or virtual.
